Varian is seeking to hire a Sr. Software Architect that will be joining the growing software architecture team. As a Senior Software Architect, you will be part of the team driving the design of our radiation therapy delivery system software platform. You work closely with development teams, with software architects, with product owners and with your peers both in our team as well as in corresponding architecture teams across the Siemens Healthineers organization.
You are Responsible for the following: In collaboration with stakeholders, authoring system requirements and establish the software architecture roadmap and execution plans.Engaging in analysis and architecture design for the next generation delivery system software platform.Establishing design best practices and coding standards.Analyzing legacy software systems and together with the development teams, define a migration plan to the new platform.Evaluating and institute industry best practices in CI/CD and deployment.Advocating high quality, reliability, and awareness of the life-cycle aspects in terms of impact to fielded systems and sustainability when considering future developments.Supporting product management, product support engineers and if required marketing/sales on topics concerning system requirements and provide engineering guidance.Following the advances in software engineering (including tools) and radiation therapy domains and share knowledge with co-workers.Depending on interest, you will participate in reference implementations and proof-of-concept work in system level software projects.Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with some Post-Graduate work (or equivalent experience).12+ years of experience in Software Engineering or architecture.Several years of experience in software development (C#/C++/Java).SOLID experience in software design and architecture.Proven experience leading system design across multiple development groups and systems.Ability to collaborate, facilitate working groups and build networks in an international environment.Expertise in modern software design practices from TDD, DDD to BDD and Design for X.Familiarity with current trends in deployment architectures (Virtualization, OSes, microservices).Hands-on experience with microservices and web technologies like Docker, K8s, javascript.Radiation Therapy or Medical Imaging domain knowledge a plus.Fighting cancer calls for big ideas. The base pay range for this position is Min $158,900 - Max $285,900.
