Job Description:
The Sr Specialist, Global Data Management & Governance will support projects and activities across the data management and governance framework to ensure data is Available, Trusted (Reliable) & Protected. Interfaces with the Global Data Operations Hub team, Data Domain Leaders, Data Owners and across GPS teams to provide oversight and ensure Data Guidelines/Standards/Change Controls & Documentation are in place across the Data Lifecycle. Coordinates and supports change management activities to ensure HR data can support business intelligence needs, improve data literacy and enhance the overall data culture at Nissan, ensuring an excellent user experience across HR.
Responsibilities: Implement data lifecycle management solutions to protect, preserve and manage HR data assets and ensure data is accurate, available and accessible. Support the development and ongoing maintenance of the global data catalog to support data health and proper use of HR data. Support data oversight activities for how data is created, collected and maintained to proactively monitor, detect, and review data issues for root cause to prevent data failures. Maintain and report on KPIs to measure adoption and implementation. Work with data owners, data stewards, and technical stakeholders to develop and maintain data quality scorecards to report on the quality of data across the organization as needed. Facilitate the documentation and approval of data health/quality guidelines. Support data literacy efforts across HR to foster a data-driven culture, including creation and oversight of data governance and compliance curriculum and training delivery in coordination with People Analytics and Global L&D teams, coaching data owners and stewards on best practices, standard approaches and tools to improve data quality and stewardship. Understand data in scope for privacy-related regulations and audit existing business practices to ensure compliance with organization policy, including communication and training on these processes with the larger organization. Serves in a project management capacity to:
Support user group meetings and serve as a project team member on projects and initiatives. Produce project deliverables and meet deadlines as outlined. Properly articulate issues, identify root causes and develop solutions. Manage customer expectations through timely checkpoints to provide status on projects: timeline, issues, roadblocks, risks, changes and accomplishments. Escalate issues to management appropriately to support timely resolution and ensure continued progress to project completion. Develop and present to data governance leaders and business stakeholders opportunities for enhancing data quality. May serve as primary project manager for small global projects. Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement by making recommendations for relevant data, processes, tools and methodologies. Stay updated on current trends in Data Lifecycle Management & Governance. Develop strong working relationships with Global/Regional HR COE teams and Analytics teams to understand data needs and provide advisement for an excellent user experience. Lead continuous improvement efforts by making recommendations for relevant data processes, benchmarking, tools, and methodologies and executing key process improvement activities. Stay updated on current trends and industry best practices for data governance including compliance and privacy laws. Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of information technologies, standards, and best practices in data management and governance. Familiarity with data management principles and practices (Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), and data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Snowflake). Strong analytical and consultative skills to support solutions for data and reporting to enable insights for HR COEs and business leaders. Software Knowledge: Knowledge of Service Now, ticket system/assignment groups and change control processes. Familiarity with data management principles and practices (Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), and data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Snowflake). Experience: 3-5 years of directly related professional experience supporting HCM platform business processes, data operations, data management solutions (data management, data quality, data literacy, data process/policy development, data governance). Cross-functional or global experience is desired. Certification in Workday HCM, Workday Report Writer, ITIL, PMP, Six Sigma, or Data Management is a plus. Education: Bachelor's degree in a Quantitative, Technical or Business field (Business Administration/Strategy, Information Systems, Mathematics/Statistics or other related field).
