Northrop Grumman's Sensing & Secure Solutions Operating Unit is actively seeking a talented Solution Train Cyber Architect to join a Northrop Grumman primed program.
This position's work location is in Annapolis Junction Maryland and is part of the Mission Systems Sector within Northrop Grumman.
The new team member will be designing and developing new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
We are seeking a person who is capable of being responsible for leading technology decisions (such as analysis of alternatives and other research), mentoring junior engineers, and demonstrating knowledge/experience of the latest industry software techniques and practices to include Scaled Agile Framework development, Test Driven Development, Containerization, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, software patterns, and other concepts.
The System Architect is the authority for the system architecture and design, and has the responsibility to create, evolve, and maintain the architecture of the system to meet operational needs while accommodating known constraints such as cost, schedule, and risk, tailoring the systems requirements margins relative to the risk and compliance with the Key Performance Parameters (KPPs).
The System Architect also has responsibility for maintaining alignment between the appropriate solution and internal roadmaps or product lines,
The successful candidate should be comfortable with performing most of the following tasks:
Define/generate mission CONOPs to state the problem and transform the user and/or mission operational needs into a description of high-level system KPPs, capabilities, and constraints.
Oversee system architecture and design development and supporting architecture roles.
Create, evolve, and maintain the System Architecture that supports customer requirements, cost, and development schedule, including modularity, scalability, and extensibility.
Define, control, and verify interface requirements throughout the program lifecycle including evaluation of risk across interfaces and strategically driving design margin consistent with planned risk handling.
Serve as the primary customer interface for the architecture and system level requirements to ensure joint understanding that the architectural design meets customer requirements.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact to the customer to ensure precise and consistent messaging.
Co-chair for the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and responsible for Weekly customer Architecture Review meetings.
Ensure, to the extent possible, that the program is technically aligned to other related programs and the appropriate product line.
Maintain, review, and manage the design artifacts in the Model (Cameo).
Perform Peer Reviews.
Ensure system needs are established and maintained for operations development, requirements definition and analysis, risk assessment, systems analysis, system design, model based system engineering concepts, system and security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, software development based on MBSE design, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recover, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.
Integrate new architectural analysis of cyber security features and relate existing system to future needs and trends, embed advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provide engineering recommendations, and resolve integrations and testing issues.
Basic Qualifications:
A current and active TS/SCI Clearance and Polygraph through the MD customer less than 5 years old is required to start.
BS + 14 years of exp; MS + 12 years of exp: PhD + 9 years of exp is required.
Experience SysML, Cameo and authoring technical documentations is required.
Experience with Agile / SAFe methodologies is required.
Experience with designing and developing new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
Experience with ensuring that system security needs are established and maintained for operational development.
An ability to interface with external entities is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated technical leadership experience is highly preferred.
An ability to mentor, train and coach other teammates is preferred.
Salary Range: $178,700 - $268,100
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
