Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Pet Insurance! Duties & Responsibilities Assist the Controller with the daily, monthly and yearly operations of Accounting.
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including but not limited to bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and leadership/board reporting.
Implements and maintains systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity.
Interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations.
Ability to gather facts, analyze problems in depth, and break down into components.
Perform any other related duties and assignments as required.
Requirements: Degree in Accounting required A minimum of three years experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved Must be familiar working in a high volume and growth environment Experience with Intacct Software is a plus Excellent communication skills Ability to work well in a team environment Strong organizational, analytical and account reconciliation skills Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Internet savvy and 10-key proficient Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization promptly and professionally Knowledge and ability to place a high emphasis and maintain controls surrounding financial reporting as pertains to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) Ability to exercise good judgment; make decisions in a logical and rational manner; demonstrate common sense" and stay calm under pressure.
