Salary: Starting $70,000 w/ bonus
Staff Accountant Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports in compliance with GAAP.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and providing timely, accurate data for decision-making.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities: Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information. Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing requested documentation and ensuring timely resolution of audit issues. Assist with SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and other required filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Maintain and ensure adherence to internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting operations and reporting efficiency. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, escalating issues as necessary. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations that may impact the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred. 1-2 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a publicly traded company or in public accounting. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
