Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Accounting Associate to join our finance and accounting team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Controller with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Prepare and analyze various financial reports and present findings to senior management.
General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Review and approve journal entries prepared by junior accounting staff.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments and collections.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the development and implementation of procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in A/P and A/R processes.
Compliance and Audit: Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
Prepare documentation and schedules required for audits and regulatory reporting.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor actual performance against budget and report variances.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Skills: Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Netsuite ZoneBilling experience is a huge plus!
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
