POSITION:
The Staff Accountant position requires an accounting professional who is responsible for multi-tasking and addressing competing priorities.
The Staff Accountant position requires strong analytical and communication skills, and an understanding of US GAAP.
The Staff Accountant is expected to collaborate with the entire Accounting team and other internal departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations for assigned accounts.
Participate in the month-end close process and the annual audit of financial statements.
Perform detailed monthly review of financial statements for assigned budget centers.
Serve as liaison for assigned budget centers.
Communicate with program officers and/or directors regarding any questions they may have regarding their financial statements.
Record interest income and bank fees to the general ledger.
Ensure proper documentation is attached.
Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger.
Record prepaid expenses to the general ledger.
Ensure documents are filed timely and in an organized fashion which are easily accessible to internal departments.
Make suggestions for process improvements.
Support development and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures on accounting and financial compliance.
Special projects as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university OR equivalent relevant professional experience Minimum 2 to 5 years work-related Accounting experience Experience preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations.
Experience analyzing financial information against the budget and close-out requirements.
Experience with completing audit requests.
Detail oriented with exceptional multi-tasking skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word Working knowledge of NetSuite desirable Excellent oral and written communication skills COMPENSATION:
LISC offers a competitive salary ($74,000 - $86,600 salary commensurate with experience and location) and excellent fringe benefits.
