Position Overview: As a Project Accountant, your primary responsibility is to provide financial support and oversight for projects within an organization. You will be responsible for monitoring project financials, tracking costs, ensuring accurate billing and invoicing, and analyzing project profitability. Your role involves collaborating with project teams, project managers, and finance departments to ensure financial success and adherence to project budgets. This position can be based remotely, and candidates must be willing to travel at least 10-20% of the time for company off-sites, conferences, trade shows, site visits, and other potential events as needed.
\n ResponsibilitiesProject Billing and Invoicing: Prepare accurate and timely project invoices and billing documentation. Collaborate with project managers to ensure proper project milestone billingProject Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions of project contracts or agreements. Review project contracts to understand financial requirements, billing milestones, and revenue recognition criteria.Oversee the issuance and management of change orders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to dateConduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.Manage billing functions efficiently to ensure timely invoicing and paymentPrepare and maintain project budgetsTrack project expenses and revenueAnalyze project financial data and provide insights to project managersPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsManage project billing and invoicing processCollaborate with project teams to ensure financial goals are metEnsure compliance with financial regulations and policiesMaintain accurate project records and documentationAssist with project forecasting, planning and reconciling QualificationsMinimum of 3 years' experience accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivableStrong understanding of financial accounting principles and practicesProficient in Microsoft Excel and NetSuiteExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented and organizedExperience in project management is a plus
