Job Summary: As the Staff Accountant, you will drive organization effectiveness through financial preparation and compliance. The ideal candidate must be a team player, who is highly organized, and self-motivated.
Responsibilities: Assist in month end closing through generating financial statements, recording journal entries, and reviewing and analyzing financials. Keeping up to date with trucking fleet compliance. Filing IFTA returns, ensuring licensing requirements are met, and all other requirements as necessary of DOT/FMCSA. Prepare sales and use tax returns. Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Assist in day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the accounting department. Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance. Demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement. Perform all other duties as needed or required. Qualifications: At least 1 year of accounting experience. Attention to detail and organization to follow standard procedures. Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, but not required. Strong working knowledge of Excel Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
