The Role Outreach customers complete many meetings with their prospects on a daily basis and could use any help to navigate this complex process. The Conversational Intelligence Team is hiring applied scientists to increase the momentum in this space and enhance Outreach Kaia (Knowledge AI Assistant) to further assist our customers. If you have experience in building Machine Learning and NLP systems, and the passion to deliver high quality products to customers as soon as possible, we'd love to talk to you about this opportunity.
About the Team On the Conversational Intelligence Team we:
- Own features end-to-end, from the customer need all the way to the back-end implementation
- Are highly collaborative and distribute technical leadership throughout the team
- Do Agile development, with sprints and regular retrospectives
- Function in a highly progressive, quick-iteration environment focused on delivering consistent, incremental customer value
- Have something new to demo every Sprint!


\n Your Daily Adventures Will Include Working with voice streams and real-time transcriptions of voice streams to extract intelligence and actionable insightsAnalyzing the relevance of extracted intelligence, performance of the extraction algorithms, and evaluating the performance of third party voice processing APIsFinding ways to engineer high availability into a system that has lots of moving parts, not all of which are directly under your controlWorking with stakeholders to make sure our customers have the tools they need to be successful on our platformFinding quick ways to prototype and test possible solutions to large problemsLooking up and down the stack for the best return on investment for any given pain pointWorking on one of the most visible parts of Outreach's product - to both our customers and the rest of our organization Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience with implementing machine learning algorithms including natural language processing, text classification, entity recognition and dialog systemsA strong background in statistics and passion for data are essential for success in this roleExperience programming in Python, Java or Go or C++, along with strong software engineering skillsExperience with cloud-based service applicationsFamiliar with continuous-deployment projectsWilling to go above and beyond to help other team membersAbility to prioritize details along a path of iterative deliveryAbility to quickly ramp up new technologies and start contributing
\n$165,000 - $225,000 a year
The base salary range for this role is $165,000-$225,000. You may also be offered incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the your skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
