Job Overview
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a Staff Clinician.
The role involves providing clinical counseling to students, particularly within the College of Design, Art, and Architecture (DAAP), Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), and Arts and Sciences (A&S).
The position also requires developing and providing outreach to the DAAP community and consulting with DAAP staff to enhance community resources.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to diversity and cultural responsiveness.
The position is hybrid, with both in-person and virtual sessions, Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, plus one late evening per week.
Essential Functions
* Provide direct counseling services to university students, including single session therapy, counseling (including individual and group counseling), and emergency management, within the stepped care model.
* Provide consultation to the university community regarding counseling needs.
* Develop and provide outreach to students, faculty, and staff.
* Serve as liaison for counseling center to the university community and community agencies.
* Participate in training program(s) within the counseling center.
* Develop and coordinates programs within the counseling center.
* Collect data for program coordination.
* Keep abreast of developments in the professional field, related to student mental health, cultural competency, and equitable access to services.
* Serve in a coordinator role at CAPS, assigned based on interests and/or experience.
* Represent the department on committees.
* May provide direct or indirect supervision for staff or trainees.
* Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Doctorate Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
Required Trainings/Certifications
Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline.
License must be achieved within six (6) months of date of employment.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of clinical experience.
Additional Qualifications
1.
Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree in related field.
Master's degree in social work or master's degree in counseling, or Doctorate Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
2.
Must be independently licensed or licensed eligible as a psychologist, social worker, or clinical counselor in the State of Ohio, with the ability to supervise in their discipline.
License must be achieved within six (6) months of the date of hire.
3.
Three (3) years of clinical experience.
