Job Description
The Staff Development Coordinator provides, plans, coordinates, and manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees.
The coordinator also talks on the role of the Infection Prevention/Control Coordinator, and is responsible for designing systems and approving actions to prevent/control and monitor reports of infections and/ or potential infections among residents and staff.
Responsibilities
Learning needs and designs in-service and continuing ed programs based on quality assurance data to meet needs and regulatory guidelines
Develops, implements, communicated, and evaluates annual training plan
Develops specific teaching plans and programs to cover training needs for all roles on a regular basis.
Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure quality care is held to highest standard and all facility policies and procedures are carried out by every staff member.
Qualifications
Must hold current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required.
Background/training in infection control is preferred.
Current CPR certificate desired.
