Sidney Regional Medical Center is searching for a Staff Development Coordinator to join our Long Term Care team! Join our growing Long-Term Care leadership team at Pole Creek Estates!
Job Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and coordinate orientation educational activities to assure all staff is clinically skilled and knowledgeable, inclusive of new employees and the required ongoing in-services through job shadowing, monitoring, and conducting competency checks. Coordinates and keeps records for educational activities according to policy. Ensure proper keeping of educational and training records.Is expected to know the Federal and State Regulations and dementia training requirements.Coordinate and instruct classes for Nursing Assistants (including High School program), Medication Aides, and collaborate with Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Ext Care employees.Coordinate and assist with Nursing Staff meetings.Assist with employee access to required programsWill partner up with new staff for first two shifts on the floor as applicable.Train new licensed staff and may be required to work all 3 shifts based on which shift the licensed staff is working. Have the ability to work all three shifts occasionally for educational purposes.Work in the capacity of Floor LPN/RN as scheduled.Assist DON daily as needed with staff training/orientation.Responsible for assisting with Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement studies and attending monthly QAPI meeting.Participate with the Administrator on call rotation for Long Term Care.Collaborate with Director of Nursing in developing/training all staff on customer service care program.Provide education input to nutrition services, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance departments.Develop process for continual working alongside staff to improve quality of care and customer service.Develop and implement competency skill checks for staff and test at least annually. May assist with development of Long Term Care Policies, as applicableResponsible for the 90 day evaluations and assisting with the annual employee evaluations in coordination with the DON.Coordinate and communicate the "In the Know " Program to staffParticipate with the hostessing program.May assist in medication destructionRegular attendance and flexible hours to adjust to monitoring/communicating with other shifts to include a weekend day at times.Other duties as assigned by leadership. Education, Experience, & Licensure: Education: Associate's Degree (AD) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school for a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.Experience: Long Term Care experience preferredRequired Licensure: Must hold a current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse license or Registered Nurse license in the state of Nebraska.
