HEVO Inc has been a pioneer in Electric Vehicle Wireless Charging technology and developing Wireless EV charging solutions to simplify the process of EV charging. HEVO is scaling the production of its Level 2 Rezonant wireless chargers, preparing to launch its mobile app, and building enterprise software solutions to meet customer needs.
HEVO is seeking a staff devops engineer to manage HEVO's cloud infrastructure, deployment and release pipelines for Journey enterprise software and mobile applications. This engineer will report to the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering on a day-to-day basis and have regular engagement with the company's engineering and product teams. This role represents an opportunity to build and release innovative software products for EV charging at HEVO Inc.
Role
Technical lead for HEVO's cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines
Build, manage, optimize, and scale HEVO's cloud infrastructure in AWS environment
Optimize the development and release CI/CD pipelines with automation and tooling
Debugging production issues across AWS services and HEVO's micro-services and build necessary tools for visualization
Establish monitoring and alerting features to notify developers of issues right away
Ensure security and scalability of HEVO's cloud infrastructure
Establish best-in-class software processes involving automated unit tests, CI/CD and documentation
Monitor cloud infra costs and optimize how we use the services
Establish secure cloud infrastructure for integrating HEVO's charging hardware and third-party charging hardware with the cloud
Responsibilities
Build secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable cloud infrastructure in AWS environment
Develop tools for automating CI/CD pipelines across different AWS environments
Manage and optimize AWS cloud technologies and services such as S3/Aurora/Kafka/Redis/EKS/Lambda/SQS/SNS to best utilize them for our needs
Leverage AWS IoT services to manage device provisioning, device certificates, and telemetry
Develop secure cloud infrastructure to integrate hardware with the cloud.
Enable third-party charging network integration by establishing secure cloud-to-cloud infrastructure
Mentor junior engineers by helping them understand cloud infrastructure, services and CI/CD process
Manage internal and external access to HEVO's web portals and assets
Collaborate with development team and manage product releases and hot fixes
Implement analytics for evaluating production uptimes and performance metrics
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a DevOps engineer
BA/BS degree in engineering (SW/HW preferred)
Hands-on software/tooling development experience in NodeJS/Java/Golang/Python
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes
Strong technical depth in deploying solutions involving cloud-based software using micro-service architecture, REST APIs, and mobile app (iOS, Android)
Experience in working on AWS cloud services including AWS IoT required
Strong knowledge in terraform to provision and manage AWS infrastructure preferred
Basic knowledge of EV charging and standard protocols such as OCPP and OCPI preferred
Proficiency in software development processes and agile development process
Be able to work with different team members and be a true self learner
