The Advanced Controller Development (ACD) is part of Samsung's Memory Business Unit, the industry's technology and volume leader in DRAM, NAND Flash.  ACD's vision is to solve key problems of Cloud & Data center by developing the new technology for storage (SSD) controller. We are an integral part of Samsung's strong R&D focus & lab innovation engine. We work closely with development teams to bring feature innovation to product roadmaps.Come join the team that is creating new computing system architectures needed to support emerging machine learning applications, data analytics and edge computing. You'll focus on enhancement of storage (SSD) capability by developing the prototype controller and optimize it for mass production.Job# 41926Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our Folsom, CA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.What You'll DoUnderstand the system-architecture and micro-architecture of the chip to build best-in-class verification environmentsCreate verification plan(Vplan) and verification requirement(VRs) from the architecture specification.Generate constraints random test cases (directed, focused, and so on) Create coverage model for function coverage. Create SVAs to increase function coverage. Hold the verification reviews with designer and architect to sign off the VRs. Build auto verification flows to run the regression.What You BringBachelors in Electrical, Computer Science or related with 10+ years of experience or Masters in Electrical, Computer Science or related Science with 8+ years of Industry Experience or PhD in Electrical, Computer Science or related Science with 5+ years of Industry Experience Preferred.Expert level knowledge and experience in HVL methodology(UVM)Solid verification skills in constrained random testing, and debugging.Strong programming language skills including C++, Assembly.Strong knowledge of the coverages models.Strong knowledge in verification flow and toolsExperience in storage interfaces like PCIe, DRAM, and CPU.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated problem-solver with an ability to work well in a teamDeep understanding of flash memory controller architecture, and related IP verification, SOC verification process and tools.Working knowledge of storage technologies (NAND flash, SSD, etc.), especially for datacenter scale product (requirement, usage, etc.)Understanding of the emerging technologies (CXL, Computation in memory and storage, Ethernet-attached SSD etc.) in server memory and storage systemsExperience with performance modeling of embedded systems is beneficial.Track record of innovation and creativity in problem solvingMust be highly motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to meet aggressive project deadlines in a team environmentAbility to work successfully with cross-functional teams, including coordinating across organizational boundaries and geographies.You're inclusive, adapting your style to the situation and diverse global norms of our people.An avid learner, you approach challenges with curiosity and resilience, seeking data to help build understanding.You're collaborative, building relationships, humbly offering support and openly welcoming approaches.Innovative and creative, you proactively explore new ideas and adapt quickly to change.#LI-RR1
