Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise product validation/Automation for Western Digital SAS/SATA/NVMe/NVMeoF storage platforms, Interact with engineers across the company and coordinate testing activities.Work with firmware and software development teams to test firmware functionalityDesign, develop, execute, and analyze automated test scripts written in pythonCreate and implement system level test plans for JBODs, JBOFs and other storage systemsAnalyze test results and telemetry data to detect issuesAssist in failure analysis to ensure high firmware reliabilityTo be able to Automate storage products using python, selenium and dev-ops tools.To be able to deliver a quality product by performing all the necessary QA Automation job functions.Debug firmware and hardware issues with SSD/HDD, storage products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.Produce deliverables by developing, modifying, and executing software test plans.Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.Troubleshoot/isolate issues to root cause, down to the right component in the test ecosystem. Qualifications REQUIRED:
4-8 years' experience of Storage QA testing with SSDs, firmware and storage subsystemsExcellent knowledge of Storage Servers, Storage Arrays – JBOD, JBOFs, NAS, SANIn-depth knowledge of python is a must.In-depth knowledge test design and methodologies In-depth proficiency in pythonIn-depth knowledge multi-threaded programmingIn-depth knowledge failure analysis skillsWorking knowledge of OOPS and design patterns is a plus.Working knowledge of Selenium and devops tool is a plus.Working knowledge of SAS, SCSI, PCIe protocols is a plus.Working knowledge on SSD and debugging skills is a plus.Working knowledge on SAS/PCIe analyzers is a plusUnderstand Hardware and Software interactionInstall and configure various hardware and software componentsPerform bug verification and drive issues to resolutionAbility to write Python scripts for automated testsSolid working knowledge of operating systems: Windows / Linux including trouble shooting issues/problems with those systems.Work with cross functional teams like performance, marketing teams, etcAssist in customer escalationsUnderstand Software development Life CycleWhite box testing knowledge is a plusSKILLS:

Compensation & Benefits Details An employee's pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
