We're searching for a Staff Photonics EngineerIn this role, you willPerform verification and validation ("V&V") for photonics modules, based on formally derived requirementsDesign, prototype and bringup of integrated Lidar modules and systems that are based on silicon photonics, III-V components and integrated circuitsDevelop software to support calibration and performance testing of integrated lidar modulesDevelop system-level simulations for integrated photonics chip and associated modules to define specifications, verify functionalities, and optimize performanceWork with cross-functional teams to support the development of full Lidar system Required QualificationsMaster / Ph.D. degree in physics, electrical, or computer engineering or relevant fields3+ years of research or industrial experience with opto-electronic systemsFundamental understanding of electronics, optics and integrated photonicsFundamental understanding of signal processing and control systemsProficiency in Python or similar object-oriented programming languagesDesirable QualificationsExperience working with radar, lidar or other optical sensing systemsExperience working with integrated photonics chips or systemsExperience with frequency domain analysis/modeling and verification of system models against experimentExperience taking projects from concept to field testingThe base salary range for this position is $181,000.00-$290,000.00 per year.  Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
