Schedule: Full time 3 x 12-hour night shift. We provide compassionate and comprehensive care for the entire family. Surgical Trauma ICU unit is a12-bed unit on the second floor with close proximity to the OR. We care for critically ill surgical and trauma patients, including neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery patients, along with post-procedural patients. We also care for Intermediate Care level surgical and trauma patients as well. Patient to Nurse Ratio: 2:1 (ICU patients) and 3:1 (IMC patients) in the STICU. Requirements: - Minimum of 1 year RN experience. Prefer 2+ years previous Surgical/Post op experience. - Education: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN), must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. - BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association) required. - RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN - Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills - Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. - Proficient computer skills required.
