Minimum QualificationsRequires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate.
Preferred Qualifications1-2 Years experience working in a professional concert hall or theatrical venue supporting touring performing artists and student ensembles.
Position SummaryResponsible for performance logistics for all stages at the Performing Arts Center and other venues as expected. Performs stage management for event production activities. Coordinates with guest artists, hall tenants, faculty, UGA staff, students, and Performing Arts Center (PAC) staff. Independently maintains and operates sound and lighting systems. Works directly with performing artists and/or company managers to start performances on time and keep production flowing. Manages and maintains all performance-related equipment and supplies. Works with PAC Production Manager to advance events occurring in performance spaces. Supervises, trains, and schedules temporary or part-time stage crew personnel, including hourly and student workers. Performs other production-related tasks as necessary or as assigned by the Production Manager. Will work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesWorking knowledge of stagecraft, sound and lighting; working knowledge of music concert production; familiarity with various types of performing artists, students, and faculty; ability to remain calm and pleasant; knowledge of IBM-compatible computers.
Physical DemandsLift 50 pounds, work at heights, stand, kneel, stoop. Driving.
