Job Description
The Standardized Patient Trainer (SPT) provides educational and technical expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of human and mechanical simulation-based activities for Clinical Skills Assessment & Education (CSAE). The SPT works under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Skills and the Senior Director of the Standardized Patient (SP) Program with faculty, students, staff, and external affiliates. They will ensure the highest quality in simulation training activities and implement simulation curricula across the undergraduate and graduate medical education programs. The SPT will participate in state consortium meetings and activities. The SPT applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements, and educational activities to coordinate program operations at the CSAE. They will co-lead a variety of projects with the SP Program team, which may include leading training sessions, editing the program curriculum, scheduling SPs and students, tracking SP compliance, and completing the training curriculum.
Required Qualifications
Experience training others, teaching others, or training in a healthcare environment (such as nursing, PT, standardize patient, etc.) or a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Healthcare, Training and Development, or related fields.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals of all backgrounds.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with emphasis on active listening and providing constructive feedback.
A strong attention to detail with the ability to document and implement processes, provide data entry, and generate accurate reports.
Ability to meet established deadlines and prioritize competing deadlines.
Ability to use MS Office or other similar software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of health education.
Basic knowledge of training in a simulation format or training in a health education environment.
Experience with administrative support, including creating correspondence, calendaring, scheduling, archiving, and tracking documents.
