You possess deep technical proficiency and extensive domain expertise in areas within the GS1 system. This includes the full suite of identification, AIDC technologies, master, transactional and physical event data.
Your exceptional verbal and written communication skills will be essential for participation in GSMP, and for the development of implementation tools and technical documentation. You possess strong interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills. Additionally, you are highly collaborative with a proven ability to work in a matrix team-oriented environment.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent in retail, healthcare and/or food service supply chain management. The individual will have experience as a people manager and with implementing GS1 Standards.
What you will do: As a GS1 Standards Domain Expert Director, you will be instrumental in supporting leading industries such as food, retail grocery, apparel, and healthcare, to solve their business and supply chain challenges through the implementation of GS1 Standards. This role will be responsible for providing deep domain expertise to internal teams who work directly with external stakeholders developing standards-based solutions. You will also be responsible for developing content for and delivering education and training to our members and industry groups. Additionally, you will provide your expertise in your domain to internal, cross functional groups as well as support the strategic priorities and programs of the organization. You will represent the US member voice in the global standards development process (GSMP) and contribute to the development of new or maintenance to existing standards relative to your domain.
This role is vital in delivering technical expertise and support of the understanding of how the standards align with customer requirements. It provides the opportunity for people management in leading one or more standards domain specialists.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
GS1 Standards Expertise: Develop and maintain deep domain expertise in the GS1 system of standards specific to GS1 Identification and AIDC technologies. This includes staying up-to-date with the latest developments and understanding all the technical aspects of the standards, and sharing expertise of domain/discipline to Standards Solutions team and specified engagements.Global Standards Management: Represent the voice of GS1 US members in the Global Standards Management Process. This involves participating in global discussions, advocating for the needs of members, and contributing to the development of new standards.Education and Training: Support the design and delivery of education and training programs. This includes support of the creation of training materials, and delivery of training with the E&T team.Support Tools and Documentation: Provide expertise and development of necessary tools and technical documentation in support of industry implementation.Advisory Services: As needed, provide advisory services to members and other stakeholders on the application of GS1 standards.
