Job Summary Operate, maintain and troubleshoot components of boilers, steam heaters and associated support systems. This positions generally functions at the Journeyman level of expertise within most areas of this specialty. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisory personnel, stationary engineers, mechanics, administrative personnel, vendors/suppliers contractors and environmental health and safety personnel. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Operate, inspect clean and maintain components of boilers, hot and domestic water and condensate systems including pressure vessels, pumps, motors, piping valves, strainers and controls. Job Duty 2 - Operate inspect, clean and maintain components of natural gas and/or propane fueled burner and supply systems including pumps, piping, valves, filters and controls. Job Duty 3 - Operate, inspect and clean components of pneumatic and electronic control systems. Job Duty 4 - Operate, inspect and maintain components of air compressor system. Job Duty 5 - May be required to operate and maintain building systems, machine tools, maintenance equipment, motor vehicles, hand/power tools, electrical/electronic instrumentation and light equipment. Job Duty 6 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma Other Required Qualifications Overnight travel reququiped for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours Degree or two years college course (due to client shift schedules, project reququipements). Required Experience Three to four years of job related experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires Journeyman level skill in operation, cleaning, inspection, adjustment, repair/replacement, calibration/testing, and troubleshooting of static components of steam heaters and associated support systems. Basic skills are required in maintenance of other components and for operation and/or maintenance of computers, controls, electrical systems, utility services; and, reading drawings and schematics.
