Steel?Shop Lead
Summary:?
Responsible for being lead person in steel production area.
Duties and Responsibilities:?
Strictly follow safety policies, procedures, rules and safe work methods, along with making safety suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety
Ensure work flow
Coordinate with Manufacturing Manager and inventory controller
Provide employees with necessary tooling and supplies
Review steel job prints
Review picklist and check on available material
Fabricating of material
Track steel inventory
Organize galvanizing process shipping
Process shipping tickets
Loading trucks
Coordinate with trucking company
Supervision of department employees, complete annual evaluations
Employee training and coaching
Quality control, correct any errors
Report any production errors to Manufacturing Manager
Responsible for making sure that employees are taking ownership in the quality of work they do, while keeping the morale of the employees high
Assist in the day-to-day department operations
Regular and reliable attendance
Working cooperatively with others to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
Contribute to continuous improvement culture
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
All available forklift certification
Knowledge of production process
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Record keeping
Microsoft Word & Excel
Presentation skills
Competent with all work shop machinery
MIG/TIG welding processes
All fabrication machines
Employee coaching and council & completing evaluation process
