Strategic SEO Director General Description

The Strategic SEO Director is a seasoned SEO professional and digital marketing strategist.
In this senior level leadership position, you are responsible for applying your deep SEO knowledge (focusing on ecomm SEO, content SEO and technical SEO) to address key client business challenges and then translate them into actionable SEO strategies and tactics.
This is accomplished by having a thorough understanding of strategic, tactical and technical components of SEO along with an understanding of the client's climate, category, company, customer and competition.

You will also have management responsibilities for 5 – 6 Overdrive team members who will be reporting into you and form the core of a team you help oversee.
You will be tasked to work, manage, and mentor those on your team to ensure seamless communication of the client's strategic objectives while providing your team actionable guidance around the tactical delivery of Overdrive's SEO services and solutions.

Strategic SEO Responsibilities Work with senior level client team members, in a fast-paced environment to address their business and strategic challengesActively communicate SEO-centric advice, recommendations, and strategy to address client communicated business and strategic challengesDevelop and confidently present actionable SEO-centric strategies and recommendationsGuide and oversee the implementation and execution of all facets of SEO-centric strategies developed with all Overdrive and client team membersEnsure flawless and on-time delivery of client developed SEO-centric strategies and roadmapsUtilize key SEO tools and technologies such as Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, AdWords, Brightedge, Deepcrawl, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Adobe AEM/Analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactical recommendationsAddress and oversee both near-term and long-term SEO-centric initiativesMonitor both short and long-term performance of all SEO-centric client initiativesOversee the technical and content initiatives and optimization recommendationsReview all program analytics and measure performance to develop necessary tactics and strategiesProactively bring SEO-centric solutions and recommendations to both the Overdrive and client teamStay abreast of the latest developments within the SEO landscape Management Responsibilities Build, maintain and oversee a team of 5 – 6 Overdrive team members through consistent communication, mentorship, and trainingManage relationships with senior level client staff as well as day-to-day contactsProvide advanced SEO and marketing counsel and advice to clientsDevelop and implement both short and long-term strategic marketing and SEO programs for clientsIdentify client growth and up-sell opportunities to evolve and grow client relationshipsProvide strategic direction and guidance to agency personnel to fulfill client objectivesEnsure complete, timely and actionable direction to all departments on all client programsOversee the day-to-day activities of specific Overdrive accountsStrategic implementation of Overdrive's policies, procedures, and productsProvide agency management with client communications and information relevant to Overdrive's performance on accountsAnalyze agency/campaign reports and communicate key findings, actionable insights, and recommendations to clientsPrepare and present presentations associated with agency and client performanceAssume other agency responsibilities as directed by agency principals Required Competencies Comprehensive knowledge of best practices associated with both technical and content-driven SEO, integrated digital marketing, and ecommerceThorough understanding of online and SEO tracking, measurement, and analytics platformsCommanding knowledge of SEO tools and technologies including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Structured data, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, SimilarWeb, Salesforce, Kibana, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, BrightEdge, ConductorCommanding knowledge of SEO tactics such as A/B testing, SEO audits, Keyword research, Site taxonomy, Information architecture, Link building, International SEO, Technical SEO, On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, UX/CROManagement of agency financial processes including Net/Gross, estimate, time tracking, and campaign budgetsA thorough understanding of interactive and general marketing principlesExperience applying online marketing strategies across various channels including SEO, SEM, Online Media, Social Media, Application Development Core Competencies SEO program management and strategyThorough knowledge of interactive and general marketing principlesProven ability to manage senior-level client relationshipsDemonstrated ability to recognize client growth opportunitiesInitiative and innovation in problem-solvingAbility to evaluate quality communications strategiesDemonstrated Project Management skillsAbility to manage and mentor agency staffDemonstrated team management experienceStrong interpersonal skillsStrong communication skillsProven ability to learn and lead a client's businessUncompromising attention to detailFluency in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExperience Minimum of 5 - 7 years of SEO (technical and content) and Digital Marketing experience, including 3 – 5 years of personnel/team management responsibilitiesCurrent Google AdWords and Google Analytics certification is a plusSEO Ecommerce experience is a plusAbility to showcase thought leadership via writing for blogs or industry publications is a plusAbout Overdrive Overdrive Interactive is a Boston-based digital agency with a unique blend of strategic, media, creative, and technical services.
