Position Description: We are looking for a Structural  Bridge Engineer to strengthen and increase our footprint in the Transportation Market Segment in the Midwest and southern regions.  Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering, a minimum of seven years of transportation structural/bridge design experience, a PE license and a current NHI Bridge Inspection certification (preferred). Familiarity with structural analysis and design of conventional and complex bridges is essential and experience in preparing MDOT, ODOT, or other DOT's, and Local Agency bridge design packages is also required. Software experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation/Geopak/ORD as well as knowledge of AASHTO, AREMA, and DOT design standards are preferred. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively  with others. A flexible hybrid-remote/office work schedule is available.
\n Typical responsibilities include: Technical lead roles in design and management of conventional and complex bridges for our growing organizationTechnical lead for analysis, design, construction support services for various bridge types, culverts, earth retaining structures and other underground structuresPrepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages using federal, state, and local specifications, guidelines and standardsDesign and manage civil projects that include bridges, culverts, earth retaining structures and other underground structures along with miscellaneous infrastructure design improvementsConduct various types of bridge load ratingsAbility to conduct bridge inspections/scoping and condition assessmentsStrong technical writing, analytical and communication skillsInteract with other civil engineering disciplines during designPrepare federal, state, and local permitsDetail oriented with an emphasis on quality work products and deliverablesLead efforts on proposals, marketing, project reports and technical presentationsAssist with and monitor scope, budget, and schedule for new and existing projectsMentor staff to support their growth and professional developmentAttend client, public, project, and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc. depending on client and project requirementsMaintain a safe working environment Education:Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering is required Skills/Experience:7 years of transportation structural design experience requiredLicensed Professional Engineer requiredFamiliarity with structural analysis and design of conventional and complex bridges is essential and experience in preparing MDOT, ODOT, other DOT's, and Local Agency bridge design packages is requiredCurrent NHI Bridge Inspection certification is preferred, or ability to obtain certificationSoftware experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation/Geopak/ORD as well as knowledge of AASHTO, AREMA, and DOT design standards are preferred
