Structural Designer

Job Title: Structural Designer Type: Direct Hire Salary: $54,000 - $72,000 (Depending on Experience) Location: Petersburg, VA Company Overview: An industry leading Precast Concrete Manufacturer is seeking candidates for Structureworks 3D Designers for their facility in Petersburg, Virginia. 
\n Job Duties & Responsibilities:Prepares shop tickets for various pre-cast structures using 3-D modeling software and supports the design team on a variety of projects and the day-to-day functions as it relates to design and fabrication.Prepares erection drawings using 3-D modeling software under the supervision of the Chief Designer or Design Engineer.Presents scrubbed shop cards to Project Lead for their verification of correctness.Scrubs red-lines from Project Lead check prints.Details Steel Cards from sketches or markups provided by Project Designers or Design Engineers using 3-D modeling software.Makes independent decisions pertaining to interpretation and rendering of drawings.Has daily contact with fellow employees in other units in the company, top management, customers, and vendors/suppliers. Job Specifications or Qualifications:Training and/or certification in SolidWorks/StructureWorks.Design/ Drafting related Associate's Degree (2 year) is preferred.Related work experience may considered in lieu of a degree.Some previous design/drafting experience is a preferred.Travel Required: Occasional
