Your daily impact: Assist in planning and developing project designs for buildings and water-bearing structures within the water infrastructure, including performing necessary structural calculations for preliminary and detailed designs. Work effectively within a multi-discipline project team, coordinating with Civil, Architectural, Geotechnical, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines. Prepare comprehensive structural reports, plans, and specifications for facility projects and document structural calculations to support the acquisition of building permits. Assist in developing structural cost estimates. Assist during the construction phase by reviewing structural and architectural submittals, assisting in responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), conducting field and special inspections to ensure compliance with design intent, and documenting observations to support regulatory approvals and Certificate of Occupancies. Ensure all structural projects comply with industry standards, pertinent codes, safety standards, and pollution prevention plan requirements. What you bring to the table: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering program. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is strongly preferred. 2-7 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably engineering, within the water infrastructure sector. Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Willingness to perform office and field work, depending on project needs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and structural design software such as RISA or equivalent. Knowledge of structural design and construction industry standard practices relevant to water infrastructure projects. Commitment to staying current with industry advancements, new technologies, and evolving linear or facility structural engineering standards. Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
