ResponsibilitiesAssist Accountant with reconciliation and compliance requirements of Unclaimed Property.Research policies and deadlines to ensure internal documentation reflects the latest updates.Reconcile financial information in Excel.Analyze and update financial data.Assist in billing and reconciliation duties for month-end.Learn software used by the Controller's office such as Cognos reporting, Sovos UpExchange, and iBanner.Flexibility in assisting with other tasks as necessary.Perform all related work as required or assigned.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesKnowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.Ability to analyze and interpret policies and procedures.Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive materials.Required QualificationsCurrent DU undergraduate or graduate student enrolled for the ******** academic year.Preferred QualificationsAccount reconciliation experience is helpful.Standard office environment experience.Ability to handle unexpected interruptions and moderate to high stress levels.Comfortable in a quiet to moderate noise level environment.Physical ActivitiesAbility to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.Occasionally required to move about the office/campus and transport objects.Compensation and BenefitsThis position is for federal work-study, requiring eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.This position will pay $18.29, with pay increases based on experience.This position requires 10-15 hours per week for fall, winter, and spring quarters with flexible scheduling.In compliance with Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.The University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer.
