George Fox University's Student Accounts department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team in the role of Student Accounts Coordinator. About the Job: The Student Accounts Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for the Office of Student Accounts. They will manage customer interactions and office activities. The primary responsibilities include handling inquiries, coordinating cashiering functions, and providing support to students, parents, and departments. This role involves regular collaboration with Account Specialists to ensure efficient resource allocation and adherence to customer service standards across diverse student populations. Like all of the specialists in the department, with their customer service philosophy and goal of helping students be wise stewards of their resources, this position will invest and participate in student's lives to help them achieve positive financial outcomes.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responding to and greeting prospective and current students and families in person, by e-mail, text, online video appointments and by phone, making referrals and directing customers to resources available to them. Managing the Student Accounts shared incoming electronic communications, fax and texts along with the office calendar and important reminders. Advising customers regarding the payment for college processes and helping them navigate financial policies and procedures in an organized and cohesive manner. Coordinating, managing and reviewing cashiering functions within the office and preparing deposits on a daily basis. Identifying and taking proactive action to intervene with customer service concerns before they escalate by problem solving, providing payment estimates, cashiering, generating receipts and initiating follow up actions with assigned specialists. Managing and coordinating incoming Guarantor relationships to assure compliance needs are met, including, but not limited, to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Working closely with the Financial Aid team to successfully manage external scholarships and to identify reporting issues. Project management duties as assigned which could include, but is not limited to, running queries, exporting, using Excel to analyze data, initiating/delegating appropriate next action while proactively following through. Efficiently and effectively using Google Suite for management of tasks, projects and as a communication tool. Managing important aspects of the Guarantor newsletter. Creating payment estimators, setting up and maintaining payment plans, receipt payments, uploading and posting batches. Innovating and improving processes while documenting tasks/procedures through learning, training, initiating and contributing solutions Actively participating in an office that highly values problem solving and teamwork. Providing rental references, making referrals, and advocating as needed. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people. Other duties as assigned. A day in the life of this position: Each day, the Student Account Coordinator greets and assists customers, manages office flow, and coordinates cashiering tasks. They respond to inquiries regarding charges, payment options, and other financial matters, collaborating closely with Account Specialists as needed. Engaging with students from various backgrounds and modalities (including Undergraduate, Graduate, and Adult Degree Program populations), the Coordinator promotes financial literacy and supports positive financial outcomes while upholding our commitment to exceptional customer service and student success.
We're looking for candidates who have: A high school diploma. Demonstrated aptitude for technology and computers along with proficiency in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office. A demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills with good reasoning and judgment. A demonstrated high ownership and sense of responsibility within a team construct. The demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure or in a fast-paced environment required. A detail oriented and organized nature. The ability to exercise discretion and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. The ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions. A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith. Preference will be given to those who have the following attributes: A bachelor's degree or higher. Financially related customer service experience.
