Job Summary: The Office of Student Conduct at the University of Kentucky (UK) works to promote personal responsibility and peer accountability amongst students and student organizations. With the goal of encouraging students to consider the impact of their actions on themselves, their peers, and the greater community through development of conflict management skills, the Office of Student Conduct is looking to fill the Associate Director role to better serve our Student Organization community and guide student conduct practice through comprehensive assessment. The position is a part of the broader Dean of Students structure, which grounds its work in core values of integrity, inclusion, and integration. In addition to serving as a conduct officer, the Associate Director for the Office of Student Conduct will be tasked with overseeing the Student Organization conduct process, including investigations, adjudication, and engaging in strategic partnerships around prevention and education. The Associate Director will work closely with Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Organizations and Activities, and other campus offices to ensure Student Organizations are compliant with policy and informed of the student conduct process. This includes conducting training and educational sessions to students, student leaders, and other stakeholders. The Associate Director will oversee the assessment practices for the Office of Student Conduct in order to drive student conduct practice allowing the office to develop stronger outreach to student organizations, campus partners, colleges, and UK community members. Further, the Associate Director will supervise Student Responsibility Coordinators within the Office of Student Conduct. Finally, the Associate Director will serve in the absence of the Director when appropriate, requiring the ability to understand and communicate the complexity of student conduct practice and the Code of Student Conduct. The Associate Director will need to work with campus partners to determine strategies when working with incidents across campus and providing overall leadership regarding the mission and goals of the Office of Student Conduct. Required License/Registration/Certification : None.
Preferred Education/Experience: masters in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or related field.
