Student Life Mentor

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated Student Life Mentor focusing on high school-level English and Social Studies. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students, fostering academic growth, and nurturing a sense of global community within our Global Homework Cafe for grades 6-12. We are looking for candidates who possess exceptional instructional skills, a positive demeanor, thrive in a fast-paced virtual environment, and are driven by self-motivation. Our ideal candidate respects each student's individuality, fosters meaningful connections, and balances authority with empathy, boundaries, and constructive discipline. When not engaged in academic support, Student Life Mentors will actively participate in community events, clubs, social gatherings, student meetings, and administrative tasks.

Anticipated Start Date: August 1
Anticipated Fall Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM ET; Friday: 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM ET. One-hour lunch break.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Monitor and assist students in completing daily homework assignments within the designated content areas.
Collaborate with students to enhance their executive functioning skills.
Maintain open communication with teachers and Student Life supervisors to track student progress.
Cultivate a supportive and inclusive social environment for students.
Foster authentic and consistent communication with FGA's social/emotional and academic leadership.
Contribute actively to the campus community.
Demonstrate professionalism through continuous professional development, introspection, and refinement of practices.
Conduct weekly 1:1 Student Connections sessions with identified high-need students as specified by the Assistant Director of Student Life.
Engage significantly in student mentorship.
Co-facilitate campus clubs, events, mini-series, and media initiatives.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Student Life and/or Director of Student
