Major Duties and Responsibilities:
An employee in this class is employed to provide secretarial and clerical assistance to the principal and his staff.
The work of the employee involves the assumption of responsibility in the maintenance of agreed upon records, and the preparation of required reports.
Although skilled typing is necessary to the performance of duties, the taking and transcribing of dictation normally is minimal and the requirement of this skill is at the option of the principal.
Emphasis of the work is upon relieving the principal of routine clerical tasks and upon maintaining effective public relations with parents, teachers, children and school visitors.
Supervisin is received from the principal of the school.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives and routes incoming calls and correspondence. Maintain official records and accurately complete reports from such records. Maintains a well organized up-to-date filing system. Operates all business machines necessary to complete reports and clerical work required in the operation of the office. Communicate with the public, co-workers, and administration tactfully, professionally and courteously. Complete routine office duties, including the processing and routing of forms and the updating and maintaining of files. Facilitate materials acquisitions and distribution while maintaining budget records. Schedule and confirm appointments, prepare agendas and handles follow-up activities as necessary. Prepare, transcribe, compose, and copy correspondence at the discretion of the supervisor. Arrange details of professional conferences, meetings and workshops. Completes tasks in line with supervisor(s)' priorities. Maintains smooth, accurate and efficient workflow. Works cooperatively. Uses time effectively (own as well as others). Develops alternative solutions to problems. Maintains office information in a confidential manner as required and appropriate. Uses computer to prepare documents accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Arrives punctually to work. Performs other tasks related to the efficient operation of the curriculum office, as assigned by K-12 district supervisor(s) and/or Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
Terms of Employment: 10 or 12 month position, HEA bargaining unit
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel
