We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Science and TechnologyIntern at our Winchester, KY facility.

The 2025 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will begin June 9th, 2025 and run through August 14, 2025
Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday (37.5 / 40 hours per week)

Winchester, KY  is a scale-up and development site which includes a pilot plant. At our Winchester site, we work with R&D to scale-up and develop new processes and then successfully implement into manufacturing. Interns may be exposed to all 3 processing areas at our site: Fermentation, Downstream Processing, and Purification.

Key Responsibilities:
Gain an understanding of the business, process and equipment by working with a diverse group of Scientists and Engineers.
Assist with the design and completion of experiments at lab and pilot-scale in order to evaluate new downstream technologies, optimize existing technologies, and/or perform process development work for new products in support of Ops America.
Collect, analyze, interpret and effectively communicate data from lab and pilot-scale experiments.
Assist in analyzing new technologies for process robustness, safety issues, and waste generation.
Assist in researching new innovative technologies and summarize findings. 
Communicate with people diverse in educational levels and experience.
Learn the importance of following all Safety, Environment and Health instructions and procedures to include awareness of and following all dsm-firmenich Life Saving Rules.
Orientation to the company will be presented and a performance assessment will be provided.

You Bring:
Currently enrolled in a college / university undergraduate degree program in Chemical Engineering, Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering, or similar discipline
Lab experience and comfort is helpful (chemistry, engineering, physics, or biotech/biology lab)
Demonstrated ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Demonstrated computer skills appropriate for junior level engineering.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
