Position Overview: The Summer Food/At-Risk Program Assistant supports the implementation and oversight of meal service programs, ensuring all program sites operate in compliance with policies and meet program requirements. This role involves training, monitoring, reconciliation, and outreach activities to enhance program effectiveness and participation.
Key Responsibilities: Site Supervisor Training Support:
Assist in training site supervisors to ensure proper program operations and record-keeping.
Meal Count Reconciliation:
Assist in weekly reconciliation of meal counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Site Monitoring and Compliance:
Monitor all sites as per policy, including site visits as needed to verify operations, record-keeping, and adherence to program requirements.
Menu Tracking and Updates:
Track menu changes from the Central Kitchen and report them to sites to ensure consistent service.
Problem Reporting and Resolution:
Report any issues found at sites to the Summer Food/At-Risk Program Specialist and document corrective actions.
Paperwork Coordination:
Relay program paperwork between the Central Kitchen, Food Services Solutions Office, and Central Office as needed.
Outreach Support:
Assist in outreach efforts to increase site participation in Summer Food / At-Risk programs.
Program Documentation Updates:
Assist in updating program paperwork for the new program year.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as requested by the Summer Food/At-Risk Program Specialist.
Required Qualifications & Skills: Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma; college education preferred.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Bookkeeping Skills:
Proficiency in basic bookkeeping.
Technical Skills:
Experience with Excel and other relevant software programs is desirable.
Licensing and Transportation:
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a reliable vehicle for travel between rural counties if needed. Mileage reimbursement is available for approved vehicle use when agency vehicles are not available.
