DESCRIPTION Circle Medical is an adult-only virtual-first primary care medical practice led by CMO Dr. Nikki Tsang. We have immediate openings for board-certified MDs and DOs to serve as Supervising Physicians (SP) for our advanced practice practitioners (APPs) in multiple states.
SP collaborate mostly asynchronously with their assigned delegates to conduct patient chart reviews, delegate prescriptive authority, etc. Furthermore, the SP must fulfill any federal/state/payor-specific requirements as a supervisor, such as attendance in quarterly meetings, etc.
The role requires confidence in clinical decision-making while adhering to evidence-based clinical guidelines. Our in-house electronic health record (EHR) makes documentation and chart review easy.
Pay is based on the number of states and the number of delegates the physician supervises. Malpractice with tail is also provided. The number of hours dedicated to this role will vary based on active state licenses, and the number of delegates assigned at any given time.
Supervision in the following states will not require a DEA at present, but may require in the future: KY, MI, MN, NC, OH
Supervision in the following states will require a full, unrestricted DEA: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, IL, IA, ME, MD, NV, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, SC, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI.
California DEA and License is required at this time.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities Employ high-quality, independent medical judgment while overseeing care provided by your delegates within our medical groupSupervise a minimum of 4 APP practitionersBe comfortable with supervising care provided to all of our patients along our service lines, including typical primary care complaints, as well as a high volume of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHDProvide constructive feedback to your delegates regarding patient care and documentation, and report clinical or other professional concerns related to your delegates to Circle Medical Clinical Leadership as neededGuide your delegates on an as-needed basis if they have any clinical concerns or questionsPerform clinical note reviews on at least 5% of your delegates' clinical notes monthlyAn absence of 30 days will result in re-assignment of delegatesPay is prorated per completed week of serviceChart review cadence may change based on patient location and payor, and compensation will be adjusted according to effort requiredMeet with your delegates via video or telephone conferencing at least once every quarter (can be a group meeting, does not need to be 1:1), more frequently if required by local state or other authorities, and create a written record of the occurrence and attendance of the meetingsAdhere to our chart review service level expectationsSupply prompt responses to credentialing and enrollment requests from Circle Medical administration Requirements Graduation from an accredited MD/DO programBoard-Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. Other Board Certifications can be considered on a case by case basisTwo years post-residency practice experience is strongly preferred; 3-5+ years is idealIdeal candidates will have experience as a primary care provider in an outpatient, continuity-of-care clinical settingAlthough telemedicine experience is not required, it is preferredDue to a high volume of applicants, providers that are actively and fully licensed with matching DEAs with all schedules in at least 2 of the following states with the ability to obtain additional state licenses and DEAs as needed will take priority: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, IL, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, SC, VA, WA
