BioServices is a brand of Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science. Responsibilities Lead and develop accounts payable team as well as succession planning
Develop metric-based reporting to ensure continued process improvement
Suggest/present and implement strategy for continuous improvement
Coordinate AP workflow/make suggestions for better efficiencies in department.
Assist team with processing of invoices where vital.
Lead AP Projects to drive efficiencies and improve throughput on processing invoices.
Evaluate all invoices to ensure proper documentation and approval prior to fulfillment of payment.
Routing documents for approval, filing and updating of records
Ownership of month end close and account reconciliations (includes Intercompany reconciliations and monthly accruals) as related to accounts payable
Support AOP process with reporting and suggested budgeting for cost centers and other areas
Assist with the setup and maintenance of new and existing vendors
Provide audit support (including preparing reconciliations/reports)
Preparing and processing accounts payable electronic payments through system, verifying accuracy and rectifying any issues.
Resolve both external vendor and internal customer inquiries and discrepancies.
Maintain electronic filing of documents and confirm consistency of naming convention
Process and post accounts payable invoices ensuring vendors are paid on time and discounts,
if any, are taken
Resolve and process disputed invoices. Includes issue resolution for team as needed.
Guarantee all vendor accounts are handled precisely and ensure accurate and complete
information is recorded.
Establish SOPs with Buyers to enhance receiving process & ensure timely cost recognition.
Understand and maintain GAAP requirements around A/P
Other ad-hoc projects/reports as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
3-4 years of working experience as an AP Representative
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Detailed oriented, with the ability to complete task objectives
Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
Ability to complete tasks on time and with superior results
Proficiency in MS Office, with adequate experience in Excel
