- Changing the Future of Byers Eye Institute at Stanford Healthcare Unit:

The Byers Eye Institute serves patient populations including glaucoma, cornea disease, retinal disorders, oncology, uveitis and other ophthalmic diagnosis the Allied Health team members serve on the front lines with opportunities to:

o The Ophthalmology team is integral in the care of these patients, we always involved in making sure that they have all their diagnostic tests prior to their visit with the ophthalmologists.

o As well it is imperative that the team keep the clinic efficient and on time.

**A Brief Overview**

The Supervisor - Clinic Operations Technical is responsible for managing clinical and/or support staff in designated area of practice and working closely with physicians and mid-level providers to ensure operations run smoothly, policies and procedures are adhered to, and an excellent patient experience is consistently delivered.

Responsibilities include managing the staff assigned, recruitment, training, procurement, and performance of technical and diagnostic testing to provide and promote high quality, efficient, cost-effective services in compliance with hospital, accrediting and regulatory requirements. The incumbent coordinates, leads and directs the day-to-day activities of individuals or a group of individuals. Has authority for personnel actions typically associated with full supervisory status (e.g., hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions). Performs many of the same duties as subordinate employees. In collaboration with the Clinic Manager, and Medical Director, develops implements and maintains policies, procedures and complex diagnostic testing equipment. Provides input to the development of business plans, leads projects, member of departmental committees, workgroups, and PI teams. Identifies and resolves technical and operational customer service requirements. The Supervisor - Clinic Operations Technical assists with Assistant Clinic Manager / Clinic Manager Responsibilities during absences. Responsible for management and direction of two or more staff.

**Education Qualifications**

+ High school graduate or equivalent Required

**Experience Qualifications**

+ Three years' pertinent experience in acute or ambulatory settingOther requirements/licenses as needed by clinic or department

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

+ Strong critical and strategic thinking, analytical and planning skills.

+ Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and Internet use.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and challenge staff; sound decision-making skills; high frustration and ambiguity tolerance; ability to bridge the gap between administrative demands and clinical needs.

+ Ability to identify and define complex problems and develop and implement solutions for quality and process improvement.

+ Skill in supervising staff including, but not limited to recruitment; training; organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives; delegating responsibility; evaluating effectiveness; and administering necessary discipline.

+ Skill in setting goals which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and the strategic priorities of the clinic and organization.

+ Verbal skills sufficient to promote pleasant and effective interactions with patients, staff, doctors, and the public.

+ Written skills sufficient to compose correspondence that communicates analytically, logically and concisely, using correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

+ Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred

**Licenses and Certifications**

+ BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

+ Optical Coherence Tomography Certification (OCT-C), upon hire.

+ Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA), upon hire.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $45.48 - $59.12 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
