Job Description
The primary functions of the Supervisor for the Emergency Room are to plan, organize, develop and direct nursing services in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as may be defined by the Director of Surgical Services, to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be maintained at all times.
The Surgical Services Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of employees, performance improvement, QC, QI, continuing education, staff development, performance appraisals in conjunction with the Director.
In addition, the Surgical Services Supervisor is responsible for orientation, competency of clinical/technical skills, licensure requirements, participation on various committees.
The Surgical Services Supervisor assumes the twenty-four-hour responsibility of the surgical Services in the Director of Surgical Services absence in conjunction with the nursing supervisors.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
