Full job description Company : Allegheny Health Network Job Description : GENERAL OVERVIEW: Supervises and evaluates telephone operators overseeing the day-to-day operations of the telephone office.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees and directs telephone operator staff ensuring service standards. Evaluates, trains, conducts performance evaluations and recommends/implements approved disciplinary action for all operators. Performs data back-up of AMTELCO system and emergency paging reports to ensure integrity. (50%) Maintains accurate on-call schedules for multi-physician practices and hospital personnel. (15%) Oversees departmental, employee and paging database ensuring accuracy and compliance with all hospital policies and established standards. (15%) Creates and monitors staff schedules ensuring proper coverage, approves and monitors time and attendance for staff. (10%) Responds to all requested emergency situations, directs all incoming/outgoing calls and pages appropriate personnel using established guidelines. (10%) Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum
High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years' switchboard experience. Preferred
Associate degree. Prior supervisory experience. Advanced communication courses or training. Knowledgeable in computer-based switchboard consoles.
