Where You Will Work Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company's Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations. Arizona's Globe-Miami historic mining district offers natural beauty and a rich mining heritage. The Tri-Town of Globe, Claypool and Miami offers convenient shopping locales, including Walmart, Safeway, Fry's and other local stores. Under general supervision, supervises, coordinates and controls the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
Assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of staff for assigned work unitImplement production plans according to approved scheduleMay participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficultInspects and evaluates work in progress, identifies any problem areas, and may direct remedial actionConducts performance evaluations on subordinate staffPrepares estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activitiesMaintains an inventory of parts and materialsApproves purchases of materials and equipment; maintains time, materials and equipment use reportsRequisitions tools, supplies, materials and equipmentTrains staff in safety proceduresMaintains safety data sheets for crewsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience; ORBachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in a mining or industrial environmentAdditional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be requiredKnowledge of supervisory methods and techniquesSkilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projectsSkilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administrationAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPreferred Extensive experience with the ECC LOTOTO processExperienced in Acid Plant process equipment troubleshootingKnowledge of work orders, incident reports, environmental reporting, and area inspectionsChemical handling experience on an industrial scale including but not limited to Sulfuric Acid, Caustic Soda, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Sodium SilicateWhat We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $87,000-$121,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
