The Raymond G. Murphy Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is currently recruiting for one Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to work for the Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology Service in Albuquerque, NM. The incumbent plans and directs the radiologic technology program and has full supervisory responsibility for a large staff of subordinate personnel.
Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.Certification: All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certification is required for assignments that include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or Mammography (M) duties performed independently, as applicable.Education: Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).English Language Proficiency: DRTs must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).Grade Determinations: GS-12 Experience: At least one year of experience comparable to the next lower grade level (GS-11) that fully meets the KSAs at that level. Qualifying experience would include:
Ability to perform the full range of supervisory duties.Ability to serve as a consultant to other facility personnel.Ability to participate in research studies.Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate the delivery of radiologic technology services.Physical Requirements: This position requires heavy lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, or pulling without assistance. A health examination must be successfully completed prior to this assignment.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
