This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements IAW VHA policy & submit your EDRP application within 4 months of your start date.

Basic Requirements:

United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

Certification: All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certification is required for assignments that include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Education: Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

English Language Proficiency: DRTs must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Grade Determinations:

GS-11: At least one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10) directly related to the position being filled.

Preferred Experience: 10+ years experience and prior leadership in MRI.

Physical Requirements: Lift, move or push heavy equipment and assist in lifting patients as needed.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Evaluates new products and equipment.

Develops and maintains protocol manuals.

Responsible for implementation and adherence to all safety practices and policies.

Performs imaging using DR and CR.

Assists radiologist during fluoroscopic examinations.

Prepares oral contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist.

Performs complex procedures including MRA and MRI spectroscopy.

Ensures compliance with safety procedures and monitors equipment.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
