Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southern Plains Region, Office of the Regional Director, Division of Land, Titles and Records in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities Supervise and provide guidance to Legal Instrument Clerks and Title Maintenance Section with daily assignments/instructions.
Receive, examine, and review all original legal documents including conveyance, legal and encumbrance documents.
Identify omissions or errors in document images and notify originator.
Maintain automated data system of all legal documents received for recording by scanning and entering data for the recorded documents.
Conduct research in identification by utilizing the automated data system.
Coordinate appeal cases with Interior Board of Indian Appeals.
Compose correspondence related to land status certification of requests for certified documents.
Respond to requests related to probate data.
Respond to requests related to chain-of-title and requests for documents.
Prepare and review for research & certification of documents for accuracy to forward for certification and submission to requestor.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-0986).
GS-7: I have at least one year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector).
This experience must include the following: reviewing legal documents for recording and maintains land title maintenance system; receives, examines, and reviews legal documents including probates, patents, deeds, mortgages, leases and rights of way; maintains automated system and furnishes information related to legal documents/probates; supervise others in daily assignments, technical guidance and assistance in title matters, and training needs.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education which shows the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

TELEWORK: Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of the position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
As a incidental motor vehicle operator position, you may be required to operate a government-owned or leased motor vehicle in the performance of duties; therefore, a valid driver's license is required and be able to meet the safe driving requirements of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (25 IAM 4 Motor Vehicle Safety Program).
