Job Title: Supplier Development EngineerWe are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer who will provide end-to-end manufacturing and process solutions for key design features in OURA's products. This includes manufacturing process development and capability, selection and qualification of manufacturing equipment, automation development, and process technology R&D.
What you will do: Define best-in-class processes to meet all OURA design and operational requirementsDevelop and document processes, parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specificationsWork with Sourcing Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements utilizing selected equipment and manufacturing partnersProvide leadership and support at manufacturing sites during development and production rampWork with engineering and other cross-functional teams to drive issues to resolutionUse data to drive process decisions and influence product and industrial design, including part tolerances and specificationsIdentify, research, develop, and qualify equipment manufacturers and suppliersPartner with Sourcing Managers and Product Designers to optimize product design and manufacturing processes for costThis is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in San Francisco or San Diego.
Minimum Requirements: 5+ years of direct experience working in a mechanical manufacturing environment as a Supplier Development Engineer, Supply Base Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Design Engineer, Supplier Industrialization Engineer or equivalent roleExperience working in a high volume NPI environmentAbility to analyze failure modes and identify process or design root causesAbility to apply design of experiments (DOE) approach to drive and validate corrective actionsKnowledge of advanced manufacturing, fixture design and fabrication, qualification proceduresAbility to apply engineering knowledge and experience into product and process designKnowledge of and ability to apply quality controls, including capability analysisExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to work with and influence cross-functional partnersAbility to travel internationally, up to 25% of the timeAt Oura, we care about you and your well-being.
