Supplier Quality Engineer
for our Mineral Wells, WV location. Hino Motors offers a competitive wage and benefits package. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, verifying quality standards, supplier audits, ensuring standards compliance, and performing root cause analysis.
Resp
onsibilities:
Develop processes to ensure the incoming parts inspection process is prevention oriented to assure defects are identified and communicated promptly to avoid delays and/or downtime in the production process
Report quality concerns to assigned suppliers in a timely manner
Review external supplier attribute chart of defects and associated Pareto analysis
Partner with the Assistant Manager, Quality Control to develop an effective system to critique supplier performance of adequate root cause analysis and ensure proposed permanent countermeasures are applied in accordance with SQAM requirements
Responsible for supplier development activity with assigned suppliers
Perform dimensional analysis to confirm parts meet print requirements
Develop special inspections and checks to prevent the delivery of defective parts to the assembly team
Manage containment activities when defective product is identified
Conduct onsite supplier audits
Required Knowledge and Skills:
APQP, PPAP, PFMEA - SQAM experience preferred
Lean Manufacturing
Lean Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies
Geometric/Dimensional Tolerance (GD&T)
Microsoft Office Programs - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to design custom reports as necessary
Adeptness to be tactful, flexible and work well under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in an engineering related field preferably in a quality control capacity
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent combination of experience, education, and certification.
Other:
Travel up to 20% is required
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Must be available to support onsite production - this is not a telecommuting position
Ability to work for Japanese Company within an international environment
Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required
