Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2664000 and is part of the IL 108, National Guard.
Responsibilities As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-2005-5/6, you will function as the assistant Supply NCO for the Bn or Sqdrn.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Responsible for the request, receipt, issue, and accountability of individual, organizational, facility, and expendable supplies and equipment.
Provide technical assistance to headquarters logistics section, or other staff sections concerning field feeding platoon personnel and operations, subordinate units and detachments.
Assist in monitoring funds availability in accordance with regulations and leader priorities.
Manage all Field Feeding Platoon equipment scheduled services, Non-Combat Operations Maintenance Plan (NCOMP)s, Work Orders, Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), and Qualitative Material Requirements (QMR)s in Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A).
Assist in the management of daily input into organizations Army Food Management System (AFMIS) and serves as an assistant in the management and operation of Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) for dispatching, licensing, and equipment usage requirements.
Provide input for the development of command logistics policies.
Consolidate Field Feeding Platoon logistic feeder information for the organizational readiness report.
Coordinate for the receipt of, and issue of billeting, equipment, and supplies for both training and mission requirements.
Manage all hand receipts for the field feeding platoon.
Monitor all sensitive items and unit inventories.
Conduct inventories, dry goods on hand, and sensitive items for field feeding platoon property.
Responsible for new equipment fielding.
Requirements Conditions of Employment This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement.
This is required prior to the effective date of placement.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades: Enlisted only - Not to exceed Rank of E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions; experience using computer and automation systems.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-6 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade: knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
GS 5 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade: demonstrated knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned; experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more automated supply databases to enter and retrieve recurring reports; experience using working knowledge of the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
