Essential Tasks:This position requires some independent judgment, as well as technical skill. Duties include performing clerical work requiring application of various work methods and procedures which may be complex.Thorough knowledge and experience in attending county court small claims pre-trial hearings, trials before the court, and case management conferences by appearing either in person or virtually.Conduct the necessary preparations before court to ensure the docket is current and notate any significant information that could be pertinent to the case.Attend court hearings (which may require staying after hours) and maintain accurate records of court rulings by documenting the information to the Court Memo, accepting evidence or I.D. as directed by the Court, and preparing/processing Orders when required. This includes the ability to attend virtual hearings as needed.Provide accurate and professional service to the courts, general public, and other government agencies by maintaining an accurate record of court orders, as stated by the Judge in the courtroom proceedings, as well as providing information regarding civil appeals.Always maintain professionalism in the courtroom and adhere to the dress code policies that have been put in place.Knowledge and understanding of mortgage foreclosure proceedings including the online sale and post-sale work in the RealAuction application pursuant to Florida Statutes, Civil Rules, and Administrative Orders.Determine the status of indigent applications and process the required paperwork.Answer incoming telephone calls systematically and professionally. Furnish technical information to inquiring customers both in person and telephonically without giving legal advice.Ability to effectively communicate in person, via email, and in writing to both internal and external customers.Accurately and timely scan and/or index pleadings into the case management system in compliance with time standards, rules, statutes, and operating procedures.Thorough knowledge of procedures that pertain to process work such as defaults, writs, garnishments, executions, copy work, notice of actions, and other assigned tasks.Thorough knowledge to process unclaimed funds.Assist with opening, clocking in, and distributing all incoming mail.Provide assistance to the Civil Law customer service team.Ability to validate all financial transactions into the Vision System and balance monies to deposit slips or reports at the end of each workday.Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Perform data entry regarding new cases that are filed by electronic filings and assist with indexing documents.Perform other related work as required.This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
