Closing Date: November 27, 2024 Reporting to the Surface Crew Supervisor, the incumbents of the Surface Crew Operator's progression operates heavy equipment for the mine department following all safety regulations and procedures outlined by the company including Trash Trucks, Bus, 966 Fork Lift, Bull Fork, Tractor/Trailer, Telescoping Forklift, 1T 38 Tool Handler Fork Lift, Bull 45T Forklift, Tractor Broom, Dump Truck with Sander/20" Plow/Belly Blade, Snow Blowers (966 attachment and truck type), 966 Push Blade, Aircraft Deicing Truck, Road Grader, Dozer, Tractor with belly pump/water tanker/high deck trailer/20T tilt trailer.
Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
\n Responsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresMaintain proficiency in the operation of Trash Truck, Bus, 966 Forklift, Bull Fork, Tractor/Trailer, Telescoping Forklift, 1T 38 Tool Handler Forklift, 966 Loader, and Bull 45T ForkliftResponsible for completing basic paperwork such as timesheets and walk around inspection forms and condition of equipment reportsDemonstrate the ability to follow instructions and have the willingness to learn and advance through the Surface Operators progressionCommunicate effectively with other operators, colleague and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shiftDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazardsEnsure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as required.Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentA Commercial Driver License is preferred Must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lbs on a regular basisPrior mining or similar experience is preferredStrong team cooperation is requiredAbility to perform tasks with limited directionWork safely and follow instructionsWilling to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditionsA desire to advance to higher levels in the competency development system by training and becoming proficient at specific tasks and duties in the Surface Operations department
