Description Surgery RN- Full Time Up to $10,000 Sign On Bonus! ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Full time position available at 36 hours per week.
Monday-Friday shifts with on-call rotation.
30 minute response time required.

POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families.
Maintains a practice environment that reflects the Philosophy of Nursing at Cherokee Regional Medical Center within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model in collaboration with other caregivers.
Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all stages for the surgical patient.
Will implement policies, procedures, standards, and care for infants, children and adult surgical patients throughout the phases of surgery.
Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standard and compliance policy.
Monitors medical condition of surgical patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient, emergency medical, and trauma patient care.
Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning equipment.
Inspects the area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.
Ensures accurate maintenance of the patient's medical record and that patient records are treated as confidential information.
Adheres to the policies and procedures regarding HIPAA Guidelines.
Demonstrates proficiency in performance standards and skills required of outpatient surgery, operating room and recovery nurse.
Demonstrates the ability to competently care for patients of all ages to include neonatal, pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
Directs maintenance of outpatient surgery, operating room and recovery room facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patient and staff.
Takes call according to monthly schedule after the closing of regular department hours.
Requirements Education: Required: ADN-RN License/Registration/Certification: Required: Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa Required: Current BCLS, PALS, and ACLS certification.
Experience: Preferred: 1+ year experience on Medical-Surgical Floor Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.
Highly developed problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions.
Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines on daily work and special projects.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong project management skills needed.
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patients in the age range.
Ability to assess data and interpret appropriate information relating to their age-specific needs.
Ability to learn and use various community programs.
