The RN Director Surgical Services will oversee the OR, Endoscopy, Pre/Post, PACU, and the Sterile Processing Department. This facility is a busy 150+ bed hospital that is part of a highly accredited greater health care system. With an experienced Perioperative team working under them, the Nurse Director Surgical Services will be properly supported to ensure that all the goals and expectations are being met. The Surgical Services Nursing Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer to keep them informed and will collaborate with them on unit goals and initiatives. This position will be supported by Perioperative Nurse Managers, Surgery Nurse Supervisors, Perioperative Nurse Educators, and experienced Surgical Service Staff Nurses.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of surgical staff, including surgeons, nurses, and support personnel.Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance surgical services and achieve departmental goals.Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in surgical care.Manage departmental budget, resources, and equipment to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the surgical team.Oversee scheduling, staffing, and workflow to maintain optimal patient flow and minimize wait times.Coordinate with other departments to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated patient care.Participate in quality assurance activities, performance improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.The Director Surgical Services will have the pleasure of living in Vineland, one of New Jersey's hidden gems.
